Fiancee Visa Brazil: K-1 Interview Information

*       On the day of the interview, the beneficiary must appear in person at the U.S. Consulate in

Rio de Janeiro at 7:45am. The presence of the petitioner is encouraged. *       The office cannot guarantee the approval of your visa in advance. The Consul must check the documents first and then make a final decision on your visa request. Do not to make any final travel arrangements, sell your properties or quit your job before your visa is issued.  *       The fiancée visa is usually good for 180 days with only ONE entry after the issuance. Upon entry in the U.S. you must get married within 90 days. If you do not get married you will have to leave the U.S. and apply for a new process. After the marriage you must contact the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) to change your status from fiancée to immediate relative and have your Green Card issued. *       You will most likely have to spend the entire morning (and possibly the afternoon as well) in the Office until the Consul can make a final decision on your request.  If any problem is detected, it is possible that you may have to return to the Office again.  *       You must use a delivery service that has a partnership with the consulate to return your visa after issued. Upon the approval of your visa you will receive instructions on how to contract this service. Cameras, laptops, cellular phones and baggage are not allowed into the Consulate building.*       The office is not able to transfer petitions to USCIS or any U.S. Embassy or Consulate without a formal request from that office.
